Our Favorite Ways to Spend a Rainy Day in Destin

When you’ve planned a beautiful beach day in Destin, Florida but instead wake up to dark clouds and rain what do you do? You do not let a little gloomy weather get you down. Shift gears and enjoy this beach town at some of our favorite spots that will keep you dry!

Most of us visit these beautiful beaches for the view. There’s no better show than a rainstorm being pushed across the Gulf of Mexico creating big waves that crash against the shore. This amazing presentation can be enjoyed under the shelter of your favorite beachside restaurant and bar or from the balcony of your Destin Condo Rental.

Speaking of restaurants and bars, HarborWalk Village is one of our favorite spots on a rainy day. After all, when the clouds come out it’s time for a cocktail. HarborWalk Village has a variety of restaurants and bars boasting incredible views of the harbor while keeping you covered. One of our favorites is Harry T’s where you can indulge in fresh seafood straight from the Gulf and sip on delicious cocktails all with an unobstructed view of the harbor!

What do the locals do on a rainy day? They head to Destin Brewery! There's nothing better than a cold craft beer when the weather is not cooperating. Sip on flavors such as Mango Habanero IPA, Blood Orange Blonde Ale, and Dockside Porter to name a few. This local's hot spot is off the beaten path and definitely worth a visit. 

These ideas are great for couples and singles. However, what if you are traveling with kids? Don’t worry parents, Destin has you covered. Here are three of our favorite indoor activities that your family is sure to love!

Fat Daddy’s Arcade is located in the heart of Destin and features over 120 of the latest arcade games as well as traditional arcade favorites. Gulf Coast Escape Room is located across from the Destin Harbor and offers real-life adventure games in which your team is put in a room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within an allotted time period. Rainforest Black Light Golf & Arcade is located in Miramar Beach. It offers indoor miniature golf as well as a variety of arcade games and more!
